Fast 1000 deutsche Zimmerer trafen sich anlässlich der Messe DACH+HOLZ am Donnerstag vor dem Kölner Dom zu einem Zimmererklatsch. Mit der Aktion sollte für den Baustoff Holz geworben werden.
Von „gefühlten 1000“ Zimmerern sprach die Kölner Bürgermeisterin Elfi Scho-Antwerpes bei ihrem Grußwort vor dem Kölner Dom. Aus ganz Deutschland waren die Zimmerer in traditioneller Kluft angereist, um zunächst im Dom einen Gottesdienst zu feiern und anschließend einen der größten Zimmererklatsche aller Zeiten aufzuführen.
Ziel der Aktion war es, für den klimafreundlichen und nachwachsenden Baustoff Holz und das Zimmererhandwerk zu werben. Holzbau Deutschland, der Initiator der Veranstaltung, überreichte zudem Spendenschecks an ein soziales Projekt in Südafrika und an „Aktion Mensch“. Außerdem durften sich die Kölner Kindertagesstätten über Holzspielhäuser freuen.
