Das fünfstöckige „Mehrzweckgebäude BKH Schwaz“ wird zum Großteil in Massivholzbauweise realisiert und will seinen NutzerInnen künftig ein gesundes Raumklima bieten, so proHolz Tirol in einer Mitteilung. Bei dem Neubau wird der Baustoff Holz nicht nur für die Konstruktion des Gebäudes verwendet, sondern auch im Innenbereich – zum Teil sichtbar – im Decken- und Wandbereich eingesetzt. Insgesamt werden etwa 480 Kubikmeter Brettsperrholz verbaut.
Schon jetzt sei von Seiten des Personals eine große Nachfrage nach Dienstzimmern in dem neuen Holzbautrakt angemeldet worden, heißt es weiter. Im Vorfeld des Projekts hätte allerdings eine „herausfordernde Diskussion“ stattgefunden, um die Bauherren von einem Holzbau zu überzeugen. Mittlerweile seien die Verantwortlichen vom raschen Baufortschritt und der Ausführungsqualität überzeugt worden, die Erwartungen an die künftige Nutzungsqualität seien dementsprechend hoch. „Die Holzbauweise im Krankenhausbereich ist zwar noch selten, aber wir sind überzeugt, dass wir auch im Baubereich neue Wege in puncto Nachhaltigkeit gehen müssen“, so Gemeindeverbandsobmann Franz Hauser.
